In How to Be Single, Elliott is a successful novelist who is going through a bad time because he suffers from what the authors call a creative block. To overcome the problems that are happening in terms of creation, he decides to investigate a murder case.
The case is recent and involves a Linux programmer, who a few years ago was accused of murdering his wife. He was condemned for that, despite the fact that the case was surrounded by strange circumstances.
A time later comes the confession of Sean Sturgeon. This one was friend of the programmer of Linux accused, and what is more important, lover of his woman. That made him suspicious, even though no one ever thought Sean was a killer.
His confession proved otherwise. Sean was a serial killer, but even though he did not mind reporting all the crimes he committed, he refused to confess his lover’s crime.
