The dogs still have space in the army because to them they can be ordered very dangerous missions, to be more “dispensable” than the people. One of these dogs is Max, a German shepherd who serves for a time alongside the United States Army in Afghanistan.
Upon returning to the United States, and making it alive with what is not easy in the war in Afghanistan, Max leaves the army and is fortunate that he is adopted by the family of which he has been his trainer.
In the United States, his new family soon realizes that Max has problems. In Afghanistan he has seen horrible things, and as with humans, dogs can also be traumatized.
Now, his family will have to do his best to make Max a normal dog again and forget what he experienced in the war in Afghanistan, a terrible war.
