In the film The Intern, Ben Whittaker is a seventy-year-old man whose retirement has not done him much good. He gets bored at home and so he answers to a fashion company that is asking for scholars to work.
This is how Ben becomes a high-level fellow of this fashion company and goes to work under the command of Jules the owner of this business. She is not amused that the company has hired a man of seventy years as a fellow, since she wanted a university.
However, Jules does not take too long to appreciate Ben, a man who has a lot of experience and who helps Jules. In this way, Ben happens to be someone essential for Jules, who always listens to him before making decisions.
Despite good advice from Ben the company starts to go wrong, which means the board meets to get Jules out of his own company.
