Rusty Griswold is the head of a dysfunctional and somewhat private family. It can not be said that it is a united family and that is why Rusty decides to organize a trip of vacations, traced to the one that did with his parents when he was small.
He hopes that the trip will serve to ease tensions and for the whole family to rejoin, so they are set in motion. Along with Rusty are his wife and two children, with whom he is going to have to cross the United States.
The destination is a kind of amusement park visited by many families: Walley World. It has been the favorite park of families for generations, and in fact Rusty visited him in his childhood.
The intentions of this father of family can not be better, but the trip does not leave as he thinks, something normal when it comes to a family like his own.
